Ringtail Cat + Creosote
Watercolor
Year: 2019
Artwork by @macysfoxyart
In this watercolor painting, I have paired the native flora of the Arizona desert, represented by the creosote branch, with one of its native fauna, the Ringtail cat. By highlighting the relationship between the two, I hope to showcase the beauty and interconnectedness of the natural world.
The Ringtail cat, as Arizona's state mammal, is an important and beloved part of the local ecosystem. By pairing it with the creosote branch, I hope to draw attention to the importance of preserving and protecting the native flora and fauna of the desert.
Did you know that you can spot these nocturnal animals in the Phoenix valley, especially during night hikes at South Mountain? It's a rare treat to catch a glimpse of this elusive creature in its natural habitat.
